Ok,the left pic...is nice,but composition isn't that good as in the right,with the cross.The left one is overexposed too. You could try later to do it as separate artwork(the one with cross

I like the imge on the right..

it doesnt always have to match i dont think, in fact there doesnt need to be a thinking process behind the fact if they match or not, metaphorically they could be tied at the hilt, the white grey and black theme you mention is there, the cross is made from wood, the tree is of course wood, standing up toward the sky fixed into the ground, the relation between the cross and the wood is now viable.great work
